Catahoula Leopard Dog at Dog Beach

The Catahoula Leopard Dog was adopted as the Louisiana State Dog in 1979. The breed was named after the Parish of Catahoula in Louisiana. This dog excels at rounding up and herding semi-wild cattle and pigs. This is a great hunting dog as well as a herder.

The Catahoula Leopard Dog is also called the Catahoula Hog Dog. They weigh 40 to 50 pounds and are 20 to 26 inches at the shoulder.

Dog Beach is a great place for this dog to run. This is an active working dog that requires plenty of exercise.
