Dog Friendly Restaurants in Orange County

We enjoy outside dining with our dogs at several restaurants in Orange County. Here are some of the places that are dog friendly.

One of our favorite restaurants is The Lazy Dog Cafe located in Huntington Beach on Beach Blvd, near the 405 Fwy. The Lazy Dog Cafe is a dog theme restaurant. Pictures of dogs cover the walls. The bar area is shaped like a dog house. Mints in a bowl at the front desk are shaped like dog bones. If you order an ice cream sundae, it may come in a dog bowl. The menu has something for everyone and the patio is very nice.

Arriba in Fountain Valley on Brookhurst Street, near Talbert Avenue, is another one of our favorite restaurants. The food is healthy Mexican style and they have an outside eating area. You order your food at the counter and then you can watch your food being prepared. The kitchen is visible and very clean. After you receive your food, you can dine outside with your canine friends at the picnic tables.

Huntington Central Park has a great place to dine with dogs. There is a restaurant called The Park Bench Cafe located inside the park on Goldenwest Street, between Slater and Talbert. All the tables are outside on the grass. Dog Lovers can be seen having breakfast or lunch with their canine companions. This park is a great place to walk with your dogs. There is a dog park on the other side of the park near Huntington Lake.

Fluffy White Dog

Fluffy white dogs that are small enough to fit in a purse are popular in Orange County.

The Dachshund

Dachshunds have short legs and long bodies. They come in a variety of colors, sizes, and coat types.

Dogs with Short Hair

Short hair dogs require less grooming than long hair dogs, but they still like to go to the beauty parlor to have a good wash and a pedicure. Regular grooming keeps a dog healthy and smelling nice.

Spitz Dogs

Spitz dogs resemble wolves or coyotes.


Several breeds are considered Spitz dogs. Some Spitz breeds are: Akita, Shiba Inu, Chow Chow, Huskies, Norwegian Elkhounds, and a variety of other working dog breeds that have upright ears and a tail that curls over the back.

Spitz dogs are working dogs. They love to run and pull.

Three Dogs Adopted From Animal Shelter

These three well behaved dogs were adopted from an Orange County Animal Shelter. They are gentle with children and kind to other animals.

Water is everywhere in Florida. Dogs that live on the water have the opportunity to participate in water sports.

Cusco dogs do not wear leashes. They run around the city all day playing and getting muddy in the rain. They are street smart, so they do not run in front of cars. People in Peru love dogs and are not afraid of packs of large dogs. The dogs in Peru are very polite and do not bother people.

This small working dog is watching a bag for his owner in Cusco, Peru. This is a small clean dog. Working dogs in Cusco do not wear leashes. They learn how to avoid cars, cross streets, and are serious about their work.

Dogs in Peru are very fit. They participate in agility trials, run around all day, and work on farms. This little herder is taking a break on the back of one of his cows. Most farms in Peru have working dogs.
