Great Swiss Mountain Dog

This Great Swiss Mountain Dog is wearing a halter while walking in Mile Square Park. Walking a large dog with a halter is like walking a horse with a halter. This is a gentle way to guide an animal. Leading a large animal with a face halter is a lot easier than trying to use a neck collar.

Dogs may take a little while to get use to the halter on their face. Dogs that like to pull may not like the halter. Keeping another collar on your dog while using a halter is a good idea. Dogs may slip out of halters that are too loose.

Dresses For Dogs

Dog Clothes are becoming more popular. Dogs used to only wear sweaters or raincoats to protect them from harsh weather. Now, all kinds of clothes are available for dogs.

The Terrier in the picture is wearing a dress, or maybe it is a swimsuit. She was acting like a little princess in her fancy clothes at Dog Beach. She did not go swimming. She was friendly, but only a few little dogs dared to approach her. She spent most of her time posing and hanging out with people.

Bizzard & Stormy from Huntington Beach

Blizzard and Stormy are Samoyeds from Huntington Beach. Blizzard was adopted from the animal shelter on Newland Avenue in Huntington Beach about 10 years ago. Blizzard needed a friend, so his people adopted Stormy from Samoyed Rescue.

There are many wonderful pets at animal shelters waiting to be adopted. Beware of pet store puppies. Many pet stores purchase their puppies from puppy mills in other states. Puppy mills breed for profit only, and they do not care for their dogs properly. When you purchase a puppy mill puppy you are supporting this cruel industry, and you may get a dog with both physical and mental health problems.

Small Dogs in Costa Mesa

The small dogs in Costa Mesa have their own section of the dog park. This fenced off area is much smaller than the small dog section of the Huntington Beach Dog Park. The small dog section was full of people and dogs. The small dogs run along the fence and play with the big dogs through the chain link fence.

In Huntington Beach the small dogs have an area that is as big as the big dog area, but most of the small dogs would rather be in the big dog section. The Huntington Beach small dog area is often empty.

Dog people live in the same house as their dogs.
Small people, who are dog people, can handle dogs that are much larger than they are.
Dog people are able to walk three or more dogs, at the same time, without problems.
